My visit to Ilminster

On tuesday I went on a visit to Ilminster Intermediate it was pretty fun but I don't think I'll be going it,s very overwhelming and really busy. I got there and walked inside my mum and dad talked to the person at the front desk then she called the principal who took us to her office and talked to my parents about the school, then she showed us around the school it had music classes, cooking classes and a science class etc. But in the end I thought it was really overwhelming so I dont think I'll go there.

Mangaone Wetland Recount

 On thursday my class (MLH) went to mangaone wetland to plant some trees it was cool to go back because I had been there before and planted trees when we got there we had a quick safety briefing. Then we got straight into the mahi it was really fun. After we planted all the trees we went up to the sheep shed, It stank, My friend made friends with a sheep who he named Lamster.

After that my parents arrived Then we walked up the hill to see the trees another class had planted. Then we walked back and I went straight home.

Why do some things float?

 Why do some things sink and some things float? Many objects are made up of molecules. Molecules are groups of atoms. Things with tightly packed molecules are more dense than objects with spread out molecules. Objects with more density sink, while things with less density float! Fun fact: I've said molecules five times in this blog post...

Whirikokas Seal

I'm really enjoying aurora i'm learning loads of stuff. Last time I was there I got to use a vr headset we played a parkour game on it it was so cool.

Blue penguins board game

 At school we're doing a blue penguin inquiry topic, me and my friends are making a board game, here are the instructions.

You will be playing on an eleven by nine grid.

Use the dice to move.

If you land on an S it's a stoat, move back three spaces.

If you land on a T it's traffic, roll a 3 a 5 or a 7 to get through safely if not go back 4 spaces.

If you land on R, it's a restaurant miss a turn.

If you land on an O, it's oil spill miss one turn.

If you land on a P, it's plastic get stuck and miss two turns.

pihitai station

 kia ora my name is finn and on tuesday my class went to Pihitia Station we got to learn about all the types of technology they use at the farm they use drones with a bark function to herd sheep.  they buy rat traps to protect the environment. we learnt about the whistle commands they use to control the dogs. we learnt about the vehicles they use on the farm. we learnt how butter was made we also learnt about the lambs joints. they set up a fake quad bike crash for us to see with the drone. we learnt how they shear the sheep and lambs.  

kapa haka festival

Ugh I hate my life I hate this day its the kapa haka festival  as I headed down to the hall to get my moko I thought about how boring today would be. It felt really weird when they put it on it was itchy. I went over too class we got on the bus. I sat with one of my best friend's keylain. Everyone on the bus was singing kapa haka songs it was very annoying, finally we arrived we had to do some practice first. Tray was really annoyed that he couldn't wear pants. I was pretty nervous I new that feeling would go away once I was on stage but that didn't stop me being nervous. We sounded like a stampede of elephants as we climbed the stairs. I was right that feeling of nervousness went away as soon as I was up there.

Kamate was my favorite by far. I loved the haka I think I was pretty good. 

craft fair

 The bell rang "have a nice afternoon" said Koka Rozie. I was so exited it was the Wainui Beach School Craft Fair. I was meeting my friends Kobi and Louie there but I had to go home first. My sister Neve had her friend over. Finally after half an hour of torture it was time to go. My mum told me to go wait for my friends. I had to wait a long time for Kobi to arrive. I was pretty exited when he got there. Then for some reason the ants started attacking us, they climbed all over my feet and bit me. We had to stand on the poles so they couldn't reach us. Then we saw Louie coming towards us we waited for him and then when he caught up we went inside.

The first thing we went on was the obstacle course. It was like a madhouse in there, we went in that about ten times. I spotted a challenge where you had a bungee around your waist. You had to run on a slip and slide and try grabbing the can of sprite. If you got the sprite you could keep it. We saw soccer but you were in giant bubbles.

We decided to head over there, it was really fun. Nobody really played soccer it was more of a free for all. I got hit a lot. Somehow I never went upside down. After that I got a waffle, it was really good. I signed up for cowpat bingo then we had to go. I had a really fun time at the craft fair I can't wait for next year.

Athletics day

 Last Tuesday we had athletics. I hate athletics except for long jump. I'm really good at long jump. It is quite boring waiting in line but it's worth it. I nearly made it to the finals. I also liked sprints. I came last but it was fun. High jump was pretty boring but I made it through. Then a teacher took us over to ball throw.

I didn't like ball throw I think I came last. Then it was time for relays I love them I came last but I tried my best and had fun then I got to watch the rest of the relays I thought Rory was going to win but someone tripped him up and stepped on him.

Finally athletics was over it was time for ice cream and sausages but i didn't order any so i waited for my friends to finish their ice cream and sausages then we went to play.

Don't blame the beebots

Today my class all wrote some instructions for the bee-bots (see beebots and billy goats) we had to coordinate it through a pattern we made. We each made a different pattern, I made a spiral out of blocks. I moved them out of the way as the bee-bot came to them. We had to use a minimum of ten steps a maximum of sixteen. you can buy bee-bots here

You will need: a bee-bot, some blocks, a pencil and a writing book.
